Apex Global Solutions Data Breach Settlement Offers Compensation to Affected Individuals

A class action settlement has been reached with Apex Global Solutions Inc., a revenue cycle management provider for skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, following a data breach that exposed sensitive information of approximately 390,000 current and former client patients. The breach, which occurred between June 18, 2024, and July 2, 2024, compromised personal and protected health data, including names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account details, and medical records.

Eligible individuals those who received a breach notification from Apex Global Solutions may file claims for up to $3,500 in reimbursement for documented out-of-pocket losses tied to fraud or identity theft, as well as three years of free medical data monitoring. The monitoring service includes healthcare insurance tracking, dark web surveillance, $1 million in identity theft insurance, real-time alerts, and victim assistance.

To submit a claim, affected individuals must use the unique ID and PIN provided in their settlement notice. Documented losses require supporting evidence, such as bank statements, police reports, or IRS notices of fraudulent activity. Claims can be filed online or by mail to the settlement administrator by the May 13, 2026, deadline.

The settlement fund will cover administrative costs, up to $600,000 in attorneys’ fees, $2,500 service awards for class representatives, and payments to approved claimants. Payments and monitoring codes will be distributed approximately 75 days after final court approval, expected following the April 28, 2026, hearing. Individuals wishing to opt out of the settlement must do so by March 30, 2026.

While Apex Global Solutions denies any wrongdoing, the company agreed to the settlement to avoid prolonged litigation. The case stems from allegations that the company failed to adequately protect patient data, leading to unauthorized access.
