An Garda Síochána

Garda Síochána (Irish Police) computer system were hit by a targeted cyberattack in August 2016.

The garda computer systems contain highly sensitive data ranging from open criminal investigation files to data relating to members of the public and staff.

Data was not compromised and the Pulse system and the Garda website were not affected.

They immediately investigated the incident and shut down a number of internal systems to prevent sensitive data from being reached to hackers.
