The National Water and Basic Sanitation Agency (ANA) made the decision to halt the attack by cutting off connectivity between the institution and its external environments after the cyberattack.
It rendered ANA's systems inaccessible and useless and the analysis of these systems was the second action taken.
Since the cyber attack, ANA has kept constant communication with institutions that deal with cyber security and with public bodies that have recently experienced cyber attacks in an effort to find alternatives to restore the status of its systems.
