In an upcoming Coronation Street storyline, Adam Barlow’s law firm faces a major crisis after a deliberate data breach exposes sensitive client emails, threatening his reputation and livelihood. The breach, orchestrated by vengeful former boss Rich Pemberton, follows Alya Nazir’s departure from his firm, where she allegedly poached key clients.
The leaked emails include confidential details about high-profile cases, including one involving Debbie, sparking outrage among Weatherfield residents. With privacy compromised, Adam and Alya’s credibility as solicitors is severely damaged, leaving them struggling to regain trust. Rich, who returned to the show this week after a two-year absence, gloats over the fallout, suggesting their professional standing may be irreparably harmed.
The incident unfolds after Adam secured a major client from Alya’s former firm, Fabians, and later struck a deal with Rich unaware of his plans for retaliation. Actor Jamie Cho, known for roles in Doctor Who and Bridgerton, reprises his part as Rich, whose return was initially tied to Alya’s temporary exit for maternity leave in 2024.
